The Flower Kitchen
1109 Davenport Blvd. Suite 500 Franklin, TN 37069
Have you ever been to a coffee shop that also doubled as a beautiful floral shop? Well, if the answer is not, The Flower Kitchen in Franklin, TN is a must try spot! The Flower Kitchen is a café the combines flowers, tea, house made pastries, brunch, and most importantly, wonderful craft coffee. At The Flower Kitchen, they believe in the value of community and strive to bring people together, as well as create a beautiful space that not only promotes excellence, but kindness as well.
The Flower Kitchen was born in a small Nashville kitchen and started as a side hustle for stay-at-home mom Melissa, who designed flowers for weddings, while her husband Lee worked in the music industry. Their shared love of community and creativity blossomed over time, with Lee working from home on Fridays and the couple serving lattes and cappuccinos surrounded by flowers. This led to the dream of opening a coffee shop! As their family grew, Melissa expanded her floral business, eventually moving her studio to Germantown. The couple later opened Taylor Street Coffee & Tea, combining flowers, coffee, and pastries. In 2023, they took another leap and opened The Flower Kitchen in Franklin, TN, in partnership with Emily and Steve Dale of Sopapillas. At The Flower Kitchen, they aim to create a space where people can gather, relax, and connect over coffee, food, and beautiful floral designs. With a focus on community and warmth, Lee and Melissa invite guests to pause and enjoy the simple joys of life.
My mom and I decided to go to The Flower Café for brunch and absolutely fell in love with it. While visiting the Flower Café for the first time, it was super peaceful and quiet and not super busy. My mom and I both brought our computers to do some work, and there was definitely enough space to do so. We found a table, got situated, the went up to the front counter to place our order!
The Menu
Not only was the coffee amazing at The Flower Shop, but so was the food. Their drink menu contained a wide assortment of teas and espresso drinks, with a few specialty lattes, including a oatmeal cookie latte, a golden milk latte, and a lavender honey latte. For our drinks, mom ordered a cappuccino and fell in love with the flavors, while I ordered the cashier girl’s favorite latte, the oatmeal cookie latte, and I felt the same way too!
The food menu was to die for! Their pastries consisted of cinnamon rolls, blueberry and seasonal muffins, cookies, scones, banana bread, and so much more. They even offered a ton of gluten free options for people with certain food restrictions. Their brunch menu was also awesome and included items such as avocado toast, quiche, salads, a carved turkey sandwich, grilled cheese and tomato soup, and a chicken pesto melt. Based on the workers recommendations, my mom and I decided to order the grilled cheese and tomato soup, the avocado toast, a cinnamon roll, and a lemon poppyseed scone. The lemon scone was definitely our favorite and it paired perfect with our coffees, but the grilled cheese and tomato soup was a close second!
